Caption game strong.
Ariel Winter has a strong message to those who critique her body-baring Instagram photos: “Unfollow me.” The Modern Family star spoke to Yahoo Style about body confidence and social media, and she has no shame when it comes to those risqué posts.
“If people don’t like it, unfollow me. If you’re so offended, why do you look at it? Don’t take the time to hate on me. Just unfollow me and follow someone who covers every part of their body to their toes. I don’t care,” she said.
“Guys, all the time, go on their Instagrams and take pictures nude with guitars in front of their stuff. No one says anything. Nobody cares,” she said. “When we try to be free and post what we want, it’s like, look at that slut on social media. That’s not what it is. We’re proud of our bodies. We’re proud of who we are. We’re made the way we are. Why do we care? If I take a picture and I think it looks good—if it’s a little revealing, whatever.”
As for those trolls, she’s found a way to rise above the hate. “Sometimes I’ll reply with something nice to them when they’ve written something mean. Really, I just ignore it,” she said.
So where did she learn all of this inspiring confidence? Her big sister. “I try and feel confident all the time. It’s hard to. I’m still a teenage girl, and being a teenage girl is hard,” she said. “I had a great role model in my sister. She never not feels confident. She tried to teach me to have that confidence in myself at all times, not just when I get my hair and makeup done.”
Editors’ note: This post was previously published on October 27, 2010. (Oh, how times have changed.) See what Ivanka Trump told InStyle about her Gossip Girl cameo below, and check out her and husband Jared Kushner portrayal of themselves in the full Season 4 episode “Easy J” ($3; amazon.com).
We were psyched to see the always fashionable Ivanka Trump make a brief, but memorable appearance on Monday’s Gossip Girl, so we caught up with the statuesque blonde to talk fashion and filming.
“I never miss an episode of Gossip Girl. I think I’m a cross between Blair Waldorf and Lily van der Woodsen when it comes to the style. I like the uptown city style and a clean-cut, streamlined silhouette,” Ivanka told us.
The character of Lily van der Woodsen has even worn some of Ivanka’s fine jewelry in past seasons. For her cameo, Ivanka elected to wear her own Naeem Khan dress: “I loved the ’20s flapper feel.”
And how was acting alongside husband Jared Kushner? “We had so much fun filming together but I am not sure if you could characterize our cameo as acting per se. And the fact the episode aired on our one year wedding anniversary on Oct 25 was just the icing on the cake!”
Here’s a fun fact to round out your day: Emily’s List, a political action committee dedicated to helping train, recruit, and elect female candidates to office, released a statement that they’ve seen a huge rise in women interested in running for political office over the past 100 days.
Stephanie Schriock, president of the organization, told the Washington Post this outstanding stat:
During the 2016 election cycle, the committee spoke to “about 900 women interested in running for school board, state legislature, or Congress.” And this year? They’ve spoken to upwards of 11,000 (yeah, those three zeros ARE intentional) in every state of the country. Now that, my friends, is what we call impressive.

“We’ve been working to recruit and elect women to office for over 30 years because we know that women bring unique and diverse experiences that matter for policies that will impact our families,” Emily’s List says on their website. “Forty percent of the candidates EMILY’s List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color and more young women are stepping up to run. Diverse representation at every level of government means we’ll all have a voice.”
So here’s the takeaway, ladies. You don’t need to have 154 years of schooling, 12 political jobs, and a master’s degree in all things D.C. to get politically involved. As Emily’s List so poignantly states: “it’s long overdue that you have a seat at the decision-making table.” Eleven thousand down, a few million more to go.
Last week, Balenciaga put a $2,145 oversize blue tote bag on the market, and it didn’t take long before the Internet pointed out the resemblance to another major company’s bag: Ikea’s $0.99 Frakta tote.
Of course, Twitter had some hilarious reactions to the bag, which costs a mere $2,144.01 more than its look-alike version.
And it didn’t take long before Ikea responded with an ad campaign of its own. In the hilarious new poster shows “how to identify an original Ikea Frakta bag,” as opposed to a knockoff. “Shake it. If it rustles, it’s the real deal,” the ad jokes. “It can carry hockey gear, bricks, and even water.”
And unlike you would with a Balenciaga bag, you can throw the $0.99 alternative in the dirt. “A true Frakta is simply rinsed off with a garden hose when dirty.”

In an official statement by the company, Ikea makes it clear this is all meant in good fun. “We are deeply flattered that the Balenciaga tote bag resembles the Ikea iconic sustainable blue bag for 99 cents. Nothing beats the versatility of a great big blue bag!”
You know what they say: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Developing news on the Cara Delevingne hair front. For those of you, like us, who have been on Cara Delevingne hair watch this week, the star has revealed the most dramatic change yet—she completely shaved her head. Last week alone, Delevingne teased a pixie cut, as well as long orange layers for her role in the upcoming film Life in a Year, in which she plays a young woman dying of cancer. We figured something was up when she snapchatted photos of her long strands (complete with a pink streak) on the ground, but today, the star was seen on set in Toronto completely sans-hair.
Now that’s what we call dedication—and before any naysayers start, it is the real deal. “I have to shave my head for my next part, so I have to do something different,” she previously told USA Today. “So, I dyed it just for fun. Just to change it up.” Suddenly, the brief platinum and pink phases are put into persepective.

Will season 13 be the best round of The Bachelorette yet? All signs point to yes.
A new promo for the series has arrived, and star Rachel Lindsay isn’t here to play games—she’s quite literally crushing roses. In the clip, the gorgeous Dallas attorney proves that she means serious business as she wows in a stunning custom-made Randi Rahm gown that features sexy cutouts, a tie at the back, and flowing train. Fifth Harmony’s hit song “That’s My Girl” plays in the background as she steps onto the scene and shatters a red flower on the ground before stomping on another with her killer rose-adorned heels.

Kim Kardashian West is intent on making bike shorts happen, and her latest look is her most risqué take on the trend yet.
The reality star stepped out in totally sheer lace biker shorts while leaving her house last week and she has essentially turned lingerie into streetwear.
The mom of two showed off her sleek physique in a white top that was unbuttoned to show off her plunging satin bra. She tucked the top into a pair of La Perla high-waist lace shorts, which are currently on sale for £250 over in the U.K. She paired the look with lace-up sandals and a sleek straight lob and looked utterly fierce for her night on the town.
This is far from the first time she has rocked spandex as outwear. Watch the video at top for five more times she made skin-tight spandex look so good.
Considering Kardashian West was spotted days later in Mexico flaunting her curves in a vintage Dior bikini, it’s safe to say this hot mom is feeling herself these days. Click through to see more of her best street style looks in our gallery.
Is it time to update that résumé?
Business of Fashion just released its first-ever list of best places to work in the fashion industry and managed to whittle down the top employers of 2017 to just 16. The outlet announced their findings on Monday after taking a look at industry-leading employers around the globe. You’ll want to check out the companies, stat.
Just how did they narrow down the list to 16? The outlet conducted a survey of “2,600 industry professionals” from more than 190 leading fashion companies and split the criteria into three sections: rewards and benefits, leadership and development opportunities, and culture and working environment.

The below list of companies had the highest performances across the three categories, according to their employees’ answers.
Cotton On Group
Levi Strauss & Co.
The analysis included other findings as well. Overall employee reports showed that “crafting company cultures and working environments” had a 76 percent satisfaction rate while being a “part of strong collaborative teams” had a 91 percent satisfaction rate. Interestingly, 41 percent of everyone who was surveyed considered company culture to be the “most important driver for overall job satisfaction.”
Who says men can’t wear handbags? Certainly not Pharrell Williams.
The “Happy” singer stands as Chanel’s first-ever male handbag model, a title he wears with style in Chanel’s latest campaign video for the Gabrielle bag—named for the brand’s founder (Coco was a nickname!).
In the cryptic video, Pharrell explores an abandoned warehouse while toting the iconic handbag by his side. He runs wild through the space, seeking adventure at every turn, just as one would expect Pharrell might. After about a minute of wordless exploration, he meets a young boy with a message written in cursive on his palm: “Gabrielle.” Then, like any good messenger, the boy disappears, leaving a confused Pharrell in his wake.
Honestly, the ad is pretty eerie—smelling stronger of Twin Peaks-inspired direction than Chanel No. 5.
Regardless, Pharrell Williams looks amazing carrying his Gabrielle bag.
