Tom Hiddleston Finally Speaks Out About That Taylor Swift Rumor

Hiddleswift: the brief and puzzling union of an American pop star and an acclaimed British actor. When’s this culturally relevant term going to make the dictionary, Merriam Webster? Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston’s three-month relationship understandably rocked the world around them: She’d just broken up with Calvin Harris! He wore an “I <3 TS” tank top at her Fourth of July party!

In GQ’s March cover story, Hiddleston spoke out about his relationship with Miss Swift, setting the record straight: “Taylor is an amazing woman,” he said, “She’s generous and kind and lovely, and we had the best time.” The Night Manager star also refuted the very popular theory that his relationship with Swift was a publicity stunt, telling the magazine: “Of course it was real.”

And that infamous tank top? Well, it’s not what you think. “The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back,” Hiddleston explained, “And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, ’Does anyone have a T-shirt?’ And one of her friends said, ’I’ve got this.’ ” Enter: I <3 TS tank. “We all laughed about it. It was a joke.”

At the end of the day, the charming Brit insists there’s no bad blood between him and his ex. “I only know the woman I met. She’s incredible,” he said, “A relationship in the limelight … A relationship always takes work. A relationship in the limelight takes work. And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.”

Madonna Gave Us a Peek at Her New Twins Six Months Before Their Adoption

On Tuesday, Madonna shocked us with the news that she had adopted 4 1/2-year-old twin girls from Malawi. But if we had been paying attention to her Instagram posts, the announcement may not have come as such a surprise.

The pop icon has kept close ties with the country since adopting her sons David Banda and Mercy James from there in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Madonna even runs a charitable organization, Raising Malawi, that fights against poverty in the nation, and she has visited the country with her kids many times—including once last summer, when she gave us a peek at the twin girls months before the adoption was final, according to People.

In the gorgeous photo, Madonna’s then 19-year-old daughter Lourdes poses with the adorable girls sitting on her lap. “3 Beauties!” she wrote. “Lola spends time with twins, Stella and Esther at Home of Home Orphanage.”

While the twins have already met their new big sister, they have plenty more siblings to get to know. The pop star is already mother to four children: Lourdes, 20; Rocco, 16; David, 11; and Mercy, 11.

Hold on to your Eggos because you will freak out when you see Eleven aka Millie Bobby Brown’s new hair. Since the second season of Stranger Things doesn’t hit Netflix until Halloween, there’s a lot we don’t know, like how surviving the Upside-Down has changed Will, and if Barb is really gone forever. But, thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we do know that Eleven is returning—and with a brand new hairstyle.

Throughout the first season, Eleven’s buzzcut became just as infamous as her favorite food and badass attitude. On the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly which features a first look at the upcoming season, Eleven has a full head of short ringlet curls.

So, chances are Eleven won’t be rocking a buzzcut again anytime soon, and she’s been growing it out for the show.

What Should Happen in the Final Season of Girls According to My Dad

My dad is a total 20-something (in disguise as a 50-something suburban man). With Hulu, Netflix, HBOGo accounts, he keeps up with all trendy TV shows, including some of my all-time favorites. He binged the first two seasons of Broad City last summer, was hip to Inside Amy Schumer before I was, religiously watches Game of Thrones (although he has trouble keeping up with the plotlines, but hey, don’t we all?), and, like all good millennials, my dad loves Girls.

Loading contents

He’s been watching the misadventures of Hannah Horvath (Lena Dunham), Marnie Michaels (Allison Williams), Jessa Johansson (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshanna Shapiro (Zosia Mamet) since the show first premiered on HBO back in 2012. And now that the final season is almost here, I asked him if he is excited to watch the girls’ stories wrap up for good.

VIDEO: The Girls Stars Brought Their Fashion A-Game to the Show’s Final Season Premiere

To my horror, he told me he quit Girls circa season four. But, upon my insistence, he agreed to binge season five. To his credit, there was definitely a bit of a lull during the fourth season, but the fifth was nothing short of a grand redemption. And after watching all 10 episodes, he agreed: Girls was back and better than ever. But he still has a few thoughts and fears for the final season. Here, everything dad hopes will happen in the sixth and final season of Girls.

“I hope Marnie doesn’t fall under Desi’s (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) spell again cause he’s such an a-hole,” my dad, ever-protective, said. “I want her music to continue to progress but she [should] stay away from him romantically.” He clearly wants better things for Marni, but Desi, not so much: “Honestly, I hope that Desi keeps cycling through ‘soulmates’ because it’s entertaining to watch.”

As for Ray (Alex Karpovsky), my dad is hoping that his poor heart doesn’t get broken again. “But it probably will because [Marni] needs more than what [Ray] can give.” I, personally, am hoping for a Ray and Shosh romance rekindle but my dad doesn’t see that happening either. “But maybe they’ll open a whole chain of anti-hipster coffee shops together,” he said encouragingly. “And whatever happened to Ray running for the community board? I want to see what happens with that plotline.”

It also seems he has grimmer expectations than I do for Jessa and Hannah’s friendship. A reconciliation seems “unlikely” according to my dad. But the girls’ friendships have seen plenty of ups and downs throughout the past five seasons, and they always come out of it for the better, right? Dad, I really hope you’re wrong about this one.

Like me, my dad does think Adam (Adam Driver) and Jessa make a good couple, but he’s hoping that they “don’t kill each other,” he said. “But it’s gonna be hard.” And as for Adam’s acting career, he’s pulling for more off off-Broadway roles. “We don’t want him to get him too successful. Like, no Jersey Boys or anything,” he mused. “Not that he would ever say yes to a role like that.” Please join me now, in picturing Adam singing “Oh What a Night,” in full Jersey Boys costume.

And of course, there’s Hannah’s ever-elusive writing career. My dad wants Hannah to gets her writing career back on track: “Maybe she can find a way to continue to teach. She was a really good teacher. But also explore her writing career at the same time.” That being said, Maude Apatow, who played Hannah’s student/friend in the fourth season was definitely one of my favorite guest stars on the show to date.

Another small detail he wants to see continue through the final season? “Hannah should keep running!” Wise words, dad.

Gucci Just Debuted a Huge Hand-PaintedMural for NYFW

With New York Fashion Week just a couple of days away, Gucci is already making a big statement away from the runway.

The fashion house debuted a huge art mural in Soho Tuesday, as a part of their new partnership with Colossal Media. In a press release, the company announced that the wall will serve as a way to highlight the “beauty and and uniqueness of the almost forgotten art form of hand painted outdoor advertising.”

The mural launched with a design hand-painted by San Francisco-based illustrator Jayde Fish, who caught the eye of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, thanks to her Instagram page. Michele was so impressed by Fish’s designs that several of her illustrations are also featured in the Women’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

It took six days to paint the illustration, which shows a woman looking through a telescope on a journey into the unknown. It debuted Tuesday to coincide with NYFW, and will remain up and covering the majority of a massive 2,500 square foot wall, until the end of March.

Locals and those visiting the city during that time will also have access to a Snapchat geofilter, which was created by Fish.
